New Tutorial: Forticlient VPN
In this tutorial, we will show you how to install and configure Forticlient to connect to the University VPN, allowing you to access journals, databases, and other resources offered by the University of Parma from home.

Course: Information Literacy and Scientific Writing for Technical-Scientific Disciplines
In the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, the course dedicated to Information Literacy and Scientific Writing returns, aimed at students and PhD candidates from the Campus and the Department of Veterinary Medicine.
This course is part of the transversal educational activities (soft skills) offered by the University of Parma.
The course includes: 16 hours of online self-paced training on the Elly 2025 platform, and 8 hours of in-person sessions, divided into four meetings of two hours each
The in-person sessions will take place at the Campus during May 2026, and attendance is mandatory.
The course coordinator is Prof. Francesco Zanichelli (Department DIA).
New for this edition: Upon request, translated or subtitled materials in English will be available.

How to Register
- PhD Candidates: Send an email to biblioteca.scienzetecnologie@unipr.it with the subject: “Registration for Information Literacy and Scientific Writing Course 2025–2026” In the body of the message, include: full name, PhD program and cycle, Name of your supervisor
- Students: Add the course to your study plan as an elective or as extra credits, as indicated on the Soft Skills page, then send an email to biblioteca.scienzetecnologie@unipr.it with the subject: “Registration for Information Literacy and Scientific Writing Course 2025–2026”
In the body of the message, include: full name and Degree Program - Registration must be completed by the end of January

Factors Driving Artificial Intelligence (AI) Adoption in Italy, Mexico, Bulgaria, and Bangladesh: A Comparative Qualitative Study of Library Professionals
This comparative qualitative study builds on the results of a previous survey about perceptions of artificial intelligence among librarians in Italy, Mexico, Bulgaria, and Bangladesh.
Through 39 in-depth interviews, researchers analyzed the challenges, impacts, and recommendations related to AI adoption in libraries.

Bentham Science - Accession to the 2025 contract.
The University of Parma has signed a transformative contract with publisher Bentham Science for the year 2025.
The contract guarantees access to journals available on the publisher's site and provides, for corresponding authors formally affiliated with the University, the possibility of publishing at no additional cost in the hybrid and gold OA journals.

Do you need a book? Here's how to get it!
Do you need a book to study, prepare your thesis or for reading pleasure?
Having it on loan from the University libraries is very simple!
Here's how it's done:
1) go directly to the library and ask the staff. To get a loan you must be registered in one of the libraries in Parma or the province. If you are not already registered you can request registration when you go to the library.
2) look for it in the online catalogue or with the BiblioParma app, note the location. go to the library and ask the staff
3) if you want to be sure to find it, book it from the online catalogue (by entering your personal space with your University credentials) or from the BiblioParma app and stop by the library to pick it up
Log in with your University credentials to your personalized reader space in the Libraries opac
Since August, users of the University of Parma (students, teachers and technical-administrative staff) have been able to access the reader's personal space in the Parma Libraries catalog with the University's email credentials. The "old" reader code is in fact no longer valid.
When you click on the "Login" button, the message has appeared for a few days: If you have an account provided by the University, click here to authenticate.
