From Monday, April 20, the Medicine and Surgery library is extending its evening opening hours.

From Monday to Friday, study rooms will be accessible until midnight.

Notice is hereby given that, on the occasion of the upcoming Easter holidays, the Medicine and Surgery library will be closed from Thursday, April 2 2026 to Tuesday, April 7 inclusive and will reopen with regular hours from Wednesday, April 8.

During the closure period, all services are suspended.

Interlibrary loan (ILL) and document delivery (DD) services will be suspended from Wednesday April 1 to Tuesday April 7 inclusive. The two services will be back in operation from Wednesday, April 8.

The Library of Medicine informs that free webinars dedicated to the use of UpToDate are available for students, residents and professors.

Please be advised that, for the upcoming holiday season, the Medicine and Surgery library will be closed from Wednesday, December 24, 2025 to Tuesday, January 6, 2026 inclusive and will reopen from Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

We inform you that starting from Wednesday 15 October the Library of Medicine and Surgery will remain open from Monday to Friday until 11pm, instead of until midnight.

In connection with the national general strike proclaimed for Monday, September 22, 2025, the University's library services may also be subject to changes, reductions or interruptions.

⚠️ There could be:

• Partial or total closures of some locations;
• Reduced hours of opening to the public;
• Suspension of lending, return, reference or assistance services.

Because adherence to the strike by staff is optional and is not communicated in advance, the normal conduct of library activities cannot be guaranteed.

Loans due during the closure period will be automatically extended until August 25th.

The library will reopen with its usual hours starting Monday, August 25th.

Please be advised that starting Monday, April 28, the Medicine and Surgery Library will remain open Monday through Friday until 24:00 instead of 11:00 p.m.

The University of Parma has signed a transformative agreement with publisher Bentham Science for the year 2025.

The agreement guarantees access to journals available on the publisher's site and provides, for corresponding authors formally affiliated with the University, the possibility of publishing at no additional cost in the hybrid and gold OA journals.
