What is DiscoveryUNIPR?

DiscoveryUNIPR is a powerful tool that, through a "Google-like" interface, allows you to search simultaneously the catalogs and many of the databases subscribed by the University. It  retrieves various types of documentary resources in a variety of formats: from books to e-books, from print to online articles, from digitized resources to those freely available on the Web.

DiscoveryUNIPR offers, through autentication with the University credentials, the possibility to save, export, and email the results of your research. In addition, from the discovery interface it is possible to submit requests of document delivery and interlibrary loan.

What does it contain?

With a single search, it is possible to query:

  • the Catalogue
  • the catalog of periodicals and ebooks of the university (SFX)
  • most of the specialized and multidisciplinary databases acquired by the University
  • the institutional archives Iris and DSpace
  • open access resources

What does it not contain?

DiscoveryUNIPR does not retrieve information about e-books and other materials in the EmiLib catalog.

In addition, there are some databases that cannot be queried through Discovery.

With DiscoveryUNIPR, are databases no longer needed?

DiscoveryUNIPR is a complementary tool. It doesn't replace databases.

Some specific advanced bibliographic search capabilities and even citation and bibliometric analysis are accessible only on the database platforms.

How and why to authenticate?

To authenticate, simply click on the banner "User UniPr? Sign in with your institutional credentials!" found at the top of the main page.

By authenticating you will have access to the full text of articles and ebooks purchased from the libraries, videos in the databases, and other content available only to university users.

You will also have a personal space to save your research and favorites.
