How it works for external institutions and other libraries
Italian and foreign libraries or institutions can use the service when they need materials of our collections.
Terms and conditions can be found on the websites of our Libraries.
What cannot be requested
Usually cannot be borrowed:
- dictionaries, encyclopedias, glossaries, printed bibliographical directories and other reference works
- texts in the examination program if there are a limited number of copies
- full issues of journals
- microfilm and microfiches
- unpublished dissertations
- papers
- rare documents, published before the twentieth century or ruined
How much does it cost
Service prices for our users depend on any fees charged by the provider libraries. The service is not for profit and the University Libraries still require only a refound for the expenses occurred. In many cases, the service does not charge the user any fees if the document can be found in Italian libraries joining the national NILDE network or with which free reciprocal exchanges agreements are active.
