From Monday, April 20, the Economics and Medicine and Surgery libraries will extend their evening opening hours.
From Monday to Friday, study rooms will be accessible until midnight, to meet the needs of the academic community.
On April 13 at 3 p.m., a workshop dedicated to authors and users of the IEEE Xplore Digital Library resource will be held on the IEEE online platform.
The meeting, titled "How to get Published with IEEE: Authorship and Open Access", will be held by Dr.ssa Estzer Lukacs, Client Services Manager of IEEE, and will be introduced by a brief presentation, by the University Library System, of the agreement between CRUI and IEEE, to which the University of Parma adheres, as well as of the opportunities for open access publication in the publisher's hybrid journals, at no cost to authors pertaining to the University.
The workshop will provide guidance on journal selection, the publication process and Open Access with IEEE, with examples from Italian authors. The program and more information are available at the registration page.

12% discount on APCs (Article Processing Charges) for Science Advances
The University of Parma has joined the transformative agreement entered into by CRUI with the publisher AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science).
The agreement guarantees access to Science (ISSN: 0036-8075), Science Signaling (ISSN: 1945-0877) and Science Translation Medicine (ISSN: 1946-6234) journals available on the Science ONLINE JOURNALS and provides, for corresponding authors formally affiliated with the University, a 12% discount on the cost of publishing in open access on the gold (or full) open access Science Advances (ISSN: 2375-2548) journal.

The University of Parma has joined the transformative agreement with publisher The Company of Biologists.
The agreement guarantees access to journals available on the publisher's website and archives since 1853 and provides, for corresponding authors formally affiliated with the University, to publish in open access and at no additional cost on the hybrid and gold OA journals.

[Update 04/11/2025] CRUI's CARE team reported that the 2025 funds to publish in open access for free in journals of the publisher Wiley are expected to run out by the end of November.
